General information on transportation in Ukraine. Schedules for plane, train, bus.

Ukraine has large network of railroads so you can get almost to any part of country by train. Typically, if you have to travel by train you will do it overnight. The highest price is charged for SV class (for 2 persons), the next is "khupe" (for 4 persons). There are also chipper "plazkart" - that is "khupe" without doors.

You will have to pick up your tickets later at ticket window at railway station). To order all text inputs have to be done in Ukrainian.

There is only one international airport in Kyiv area - Boryspil airport (KBP).

There is no railway connection between Boryspil airport and Kyiv city. You can get to Kyiv only by taxi, bus/shuttle, rented car or by ordered car (like our one).

If you decide to rent the car you can find international rental companies right in airport hall. The prices are pretty high in comparison to US prices (Hyundai Elantra $60 per day).

Taxi services are in vast representation in front of Terminal B. For locals it costs around $20, for foreigners it could be higher and depends on taxi driver "professionalism".

Kyiv has air connection with almost all regions (ukr. oblast’). You can check all directions using Pilot travel agency web-site . It is available in English.

Don’t forget to check out discount airline WizzAir. Keep in mind that they prefer cash as mean of payment so be careful with online orders.

Traveling by bus is less popular than by train. It is because roads are slow and buses are not comfortable. Nevertheless every day hundreds of mini-buses departure from Kyiv in all directions with passengers who travels up to 500 km from the capital.

There are also several companies who does transportation with big, comfortable buses.
